Hôtel des Mille Collines is Kigali's historic landmark hotel, open since 1973 in the city's central business district. It is internationally known for sheltering around 2,000 people during the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi, an event later depicted in the film Hotel Rwanda. The 4-star property has 76 rooms and suites, a pool, spa and multiple dining venues.
