Ruhondo Island Retreat is described as the first lodge of its kind in Rwanda, built on an island in Lake Ruhondo with views of the surrounding inactive volcanoes. It is an eco-lodge reached by boat transfer, with roughly 18 rooms including chalets and cottages, a restaurant (Umunyinya), and a program of yoga, massage, hiking and cultural performances. Rooms vary between volcano-view and lake-view configurations.
